In this sequence, my responsibility was to correct any irregularities in the makeup and prosthetics. I employed both procedural and non-procedural techniques to achieve the desired output, taking into account feedback from supervisors and clients.
Additionally, we needed to restore organic motion to the characters' faces, which was lost due to heavy prosthetic makeup. To accomplish this, I first used Mocha Pro to track all the characters' faces, ensuring the best possible 2D track. Then, in Nuke, I created basic roto shapes around various facial features, which were then tracked using the data from Mocha tracking.
Using spline warps, I animated these shapes based on the actors' performance dialogues, including movements such as nose flaring, eyebrow motions, cheek expressions, and mouth animations.
Furthermore, I tracked and added additional teeth to enhance the complexity of the appearance, aligning with feedback from clients and supervisors.
Additionally, we needed to patch certain areas using grades and clean plates to minimize the sun highlights on their faces. This adjustment was necessary because, according to the concept, the orc characters were not supposed to be directly exposed to sunlight.
Used smartvectors and a combination of various procedural and non-procedural techniques to achieve this.
